Posted by janelle - 13/04/08 at 04:04:13 pmI have finally upgraded my wordpress to the latest version. Unfortunately, I do not like it. I am unsatisfied with almost every feature of the latest series. Why? First of all, the shortcut tabs are incomplete. Not only that since they also changed the name of remaining ones. Yes, it really looks wonderful but I prefer comfort than eye-candies. Speaking of eye-candies, the latest version is prettier than the previous one if you’re going to compare the color scheme. The latest looks fresh and vibrant. But like what I’ve mentioned above, I prefer comfort than eye-candies. I am more comfortable with the obsolete version since it’s easier to use. Not to mention the countless plugins that are compatible with it. Actually, I still have a lot of discomforts and criticisms for the latest version but I won’t be ranting them all here. I do not want to discourage those who want to see and feel the oh-so-magnificent latest version of Wordpress, not to mention those who are so deeply in love with it. I am not trying to start a flame war here, I’m just being frank with my feelings… By the way, I forgot to mention that my kind of frankness is mixed with a tad bit of sarcasm.
I am not yet sure if I’m going to downgrade it since fantastico does not offer a one-click downgrade installation… but I do hope that fantastico has that feature!

about the wordpress thing, i like it but with what you said that it’s not pleasing with your eyes, your correct. the shortcuts too,
your friends are right. you have a good talent in photography,
it’s a good idea having a random question so that atleast the people who will comment can relate with the post too?.

Haha ako gusto ko naman new version.pero sabi mo nga nakakainis yung sa navigations kasi ang hirap ko hinanap yung Add link andun lang pala sa manage hahaha.
Ang ganda ng camera na ginamit niyo promise. anung brand yan? waa kainggit, lahat ng mga nababasa kong blogs about swimming ever!

Whatever na lang ako dun sa WP2.5 I don’t really care, basta magawa ko yung mga gusto kong gawin like create a page or post without any hassle. Hehehe. XD You really have something sa photography! Plus the quality of the camera you’re using adds to the beauty of your shots. :)
About your random question, I think it’s a great idea kasi may mga bloggers na walang ma-comment o kaya walang ka-comment-comment sa post. Yun bang pag random post lang. Para naman may ma-sagot o may mapag-isipan yung mga visitors about your post.

Ah sorry to hear that Wordpress 2.5 isn’t working as good for you. But you know, you can always find and admin menu plugin that provides you with the same 2.3.3 view. Even though the compatibility list isn’t as big, it’s continually growing, and really, you should just test it out on your own. ^_^
You definitely take good shots in pictures.

Oh cool! My boyfriend and I support Arsenal as well and Juventus. I guess both are our favorite themes. It sucks that Arsenal was out of the UEFA Championship League though. I think there’s a game today with Arsenal vs. Manchester United in the English Premiere League.
I agree with you. I dislike the current version of WordPress. I prefer the old one. I love random questions. Even though someone may not have anything to contribute to your blog they can always answer the question. =)

You upgraded through wordpress? Why don’t you try the automatic upgrade plugin to downgrade?

I haven’t upgraded Istaru to 2.5 yet because I have too many plugins and I use them all, balita ko kasi di daw lahat ng plugins gumagana life private content na plugin. :P But I got to agree with you eye-candy talaga ang wordpress 2.5 maganda ang colors.
Nice camera and gusto yung shot na nasa stairs kayo cute yun. :) Masfrank ako sa personal than typing it. :))

Oo nga. La naman masyadong pinagbago yung wordpress kundi sa color scheme then inayos lang nla yung mga modules and sub modules pero lahat naman ng plugins na ginagamit ko is compatible sa new version. Ang nagustuhan ko lang dun is yung category to tag converter kasi ngayon sa mga latest version ng wordpress aalisin na ata nila ang category then tags na ang gagamitin. Mas maganda kasi ang tags kaysa sa category lalo na sa google searching.
Buti pa kayo nakapag-swimming na! Naiingit na ako, kami di pa makapag swimming dahil may work pa.. boo! Sana nga after ng sem na to, makapag-beach na kami ng friends ko.. weee at sana may pera pa kami!

ako din hindi pa nakakapag-update ng WP. buti na lang may review ka about doon, im thingking tuloy if i upgrade o hindi na. anyway nice photos ha, kaninong cam yon ang danda naman parang professional ang gagamit.

I was thinking of upgrading my wordpress too, since everyone else is all happy and shit about it.
But I’m kinda scared cuz I don’t know if I’ll be able to live with the hype, you know? Like… what if this wordpress version isn’t THE shit? haha

The latest version of wordpress did confuse me (we are talking about 2.5 arent we?) I had got so used to 2.3.3 and then it went all wierd and I couldnt find things anymore.. blah blah… its just strange.. but it is pretty yes!

Ang pangit lang sa latest version, hindi lahat ng plugins pwede. May mga plugins ako na hinid na gumagana ngayon ata nakakainis talaga. Ahaha. :))

To be honest, i agree with you sis about sa latest version ng WP..
para ngang may kulang siya, you have to install the admin-menu plugin para lang magkaroon ng dropdown menu ung navigation sa admin panel..tsk~! tsaka feeling ko rin may onteng bug siya, ewan ko kung ako lang ung nakaranas nun, basta ang weird ng Manage comments page ko..haiz.
I hope na may down grade installation ung fantastico o kahit plugin haha..

Buti pa po kayo updated na and wordpress. I don’t have any experiences in upgrading my wordpress version. Anyway, I love the pictures you got.
