Utilize the Internet: Watch TV there!

Before, I have shared the beauty of PLDT Watch Pad which is exclusively available to PLDT myDSL subscribers. And honestly, I never thought that I’ll have the chance to post something about internet tv once again. Fortunately, I have discovered some new programs that will allow us, net addicts, to watch regular television shows through our computers.

Now, we proceed to the programs.

1. Live Station
This is a free service that allows the user to stream both local and international channels. It has a wide variety of supported channels and most of these channels are news channels from different countries. It has a search option which allows the user to search (obviously) for the preferred channel that he wishes to watch.

2. TV Ants
Same with Live Station, it is a free service that allows live streams. It does not require it’s users to login before using their program. Also, this program is more on the Asian Channels. Upon opening, most of the channels listed on options were Asian channels such us SBS and others.

So, which is better?

Sorry, but I haven’t chosen which is which. I have only tested both programs on 1 channel which is SBS, a Korean channel. And as stated above, TV Ants seems to work better with Asian channels than any other channels. Also, Live Stream has a wider coverage in the search option.

Having both installed won’t hurt since they only require a small amount of memory from your hard disk. Live Station is only 33MB while TV Ants 6MB.

Is this really FREE?

Definitely free. Live Station only asks you to sign up an account on them. Also, you’ll be asked to verify your email address. After that, they will let you use their program. As for TV Ants – as stated above – you can readily use the program once you’ve opened it.

What can I do to prevent lags from the streams?

Honestly, I haven’t experience lags in using both programs. But based from the “comments” of the other users (I got these programs from my fellow fangirls), shutting down other programs lessens the lags.

HELP! The stream doesn’t load, what to do?

Sadly, this really happens. In fact, I have experienced this – I wasn’t able to connect to the live stream for an hour I guess. Well, I can’t do a thing since there’s no customer service to contact. Moreover, this is a free service. And we should always keep that in mind.

So . . . just try and try until you got connected to the channel.

Because you already have the program, the only thing that you needed are the following:

  • Know the channel of the program that you’d like to watch
  • Time Zone Converter – just Google it down!
  • Some snacks and drinks!

ENJOY!!!
