I am making a point to blog every month. But I guess, I should also give it a try to blog more than once a month. It’s not that there’s no significant thing that’s happening in my life. In fact, there are tons of things that are happening every day. And that the exact reason why I cannot have time to sit down and write an entry on my blog. I guess it’s pretty obvious, I’m busy.
True, I’m really busy these past weeks. (Kindly take note on the “s” after the word week.) But no matter how busy I am, I just can’t stop reading. I have my fair share of books before, but never have I read more than 20 books a year. As of the moment, I’ve read more than 20 (in fact I’ve lost count) books in 3 months. I don’t know if I can still call reading as a hobby because it’s already an addiction.
Speaking of guilty pleasures, my brother dear just brought a keyboard and a mouse. Why am I making a fuss on his purchase? Well, those two things just cost about a $100 each. And when you combine the price, you can already buy something more useful, like a cellphone perhaps. It’s really crazy. I and my mum agreed that it is. My dad seems to be quite ok with it.
Last night, Metro Manila was struck by another strong typhoon. And because of the strong winds brought about by the typhoon, there has was a power interruption that lasted for hours.
Of course, having a black out for ours is definitely and will never be a good news. But who would have thought that this power interruption can also be a blessing?
The first gift of this power interruption is, of course, the suspension of classes in all levels. How can this not be a blessing? But the problem will come after the realization that even though there are no classes, there’s no electricity.
But to me (and my brother), today is a blessing. Yes, first we need to deal with the hard fact that there’s no electricity. And it’s really hard without it knowing that we are living in the 21st century. But we’re able to deal with it in our own way. Because having no electricity means not having live the same routine we do everyday and that is sit in front of an electrical gadget the whole day. Today, I went on a ride around town with my father and brother. I re-learned the basics of driving and it’s super fun. Having your family beside you while you drive feels really, really nice. After which, my brother then went biking with our father. They had a father-and-son bonding for an hour.
